Wall Art Project

I've finished a wall art project to hang over my bed and I love how it turned out.

I needed something over my bed so I went to Hobby Lobby and found that their framed wall art wa 50% off. The frames were 12 x 12 and the edges were already painted black which I knew would be just what I needed to match my bed. All I had to do was cover the printed surface with my choice of scrapbook paper. I chose papers from Simple Stories - Generations, which I purchased from The Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, Texas. These papers match my comforter perfectly.

All I did was Mod Podge the paper over the printed square surface, let it dry, add my embellishments and hang on the wall. Easy!

If I can do this, you can, too. Just look around for the best deal on the frames. Some frames are way too expensive, especially when you can find them cheaper if you just look around.

Thankful for kindness

Good morning, all. I am so thankful this morning for the nice people I meet through digital scrapbooking. They are the ones who make my day. I have dealt with some pretty mean spirited people over the years, but thank God that they are few and far between. It is so great to interact with other scrapbook designers who are friendly and upbeat. It is such a drain to come across that one who hateful or smart mouthed.

A good rule of thumb is to be kind and when a conflict arises, to respond with gentleness, not retaliation.

Take time today to smell those fresh spring floral scents in the air this week.

I have been so busy but haven't been designing lately. Really struggling to get back into it. I got a motorcycle last summer and have been spending much of my time riding. My brother took me on a couple of cruises to the Caribbean last fall which gave me the opportunity to use my new diving certification. Had a wonderful time.

Some people are really good at blogging. I suck. I have a hard time sharing my feelings for the whole world to read and critique. Maybe I'll work harder at blogging, maybe I won't, but you can be sure I'll be riding. My next trip is coming up in April. Can't wait.

Days are Flying

I have decided I need a personal assistant to help me get everything done that needs to be done in a day. I can't seem to keep up. Here it is nearly the middle of February and my blog is not all what I want it to be, but who has time! I see really great blogs that are up to date and fun to read and then there's mine. I have so many other things that need my attention that my blog gets ignored.

Today I have added a Divine Digital Blinkie from the Blinkie war that is going on over there right now. The whole month is filled with challenges and fun things to do. Head on over there and check it out if you have time.

White Elephant

My family came together this afternoon for our annual white elephant gift exchange and we had a blast. My brother put together a slide show presentation using the photos from my daughter's wedding and it was so cute. It was about a frog named frogger. And this year was really unusual. One of my sons was unable to be home this year because he has finals tomorrow at Texas A&M so we set up a web cam and he played the game with us. He ended up with a Cowboy tee shirt that no one wanted after the Cowboys lost again today. I snagged a bag of goodies from Hawaii including some real expensive coffee and a turtle made out of a coconut. Pretty cool, huh. And the gift that was stolen the most was a tee shirt that said "I came to the Patterson Christmas party and all I got was this stupid shirt!" LOL Loved that one. My daughter-in-law got that one. Perfect white elephant gift. Can't wait until the next one.

Still trying to get into the habit of blogging. Not doing so great but this is an improvement.

New Blog

Hi all,

I recently suffered the effects of a hacker at Shabby Scrap Designs. The hacker meant it for evil, but it was turned to good for me as I was able to update the site with a new fresh look. In the process I came across this adorable blog template created by New Life Designs at ShabbyPickle and loved it so much that I decided to get a new blog and use this cute template for Snips and Such. The store is better, the blog is better, and well, I'm happy about that. Hopefully I will be a better blogger now that I have a blog that I love and find much easier to use. I'll be adding freebies in the next few days so check back for something fun and cute.
